What customers say?

“ First of all, it's important to note that Le Restaurant Jaegerthal and Fischer Jean Francois are the same place! Even if it's not busy, don't be put off! The restaurant is on the first floor. I can't understand all the bad reviews. We didn't have to wait forever, and the fries weren't oily. The trout was delicious, the venison was delicious, a little chewy, but good. The fries were delicious. And incredibly affordable! Service like in the good old days: friendly, honest, just old school. No comparison to the wannabe fancy restaurants around here. ”

“ A truly Alsatian restaurant, with an antique decor that transports you to another time! Everything is spotless and, above all... delicious! The prices are very reasonable and the surrounding area is magnificent. For a post-meal stroll, there are plenty of paths to explore around the restaurant. ”

- Laura KAEUFLING -

“ Authentic setting, good food, and friendly service. Don't miss the daily specials (Tuesday and Thursday). PS: Google Maps misplaced, the restaurant is indeed 100 meters further down, on the bend in the village center. ”

“ An unusual, old-fashioned restaurant. Impeccable service, excellent sauerkraut, and a friendly welcome. Worth discovering. ”

“ I ate there on weekends, with several set menus and à la carte meals. You have to have time because the service is slow, I confirm the other reviews. But the food is very good. Some dishes are homemade, such as the trout. When we arrived at the parking lot, we saw a cook crossing the road to fish for trout in the stream with a net. The smoked salmon is ridiculous and not homemade, which is a shame. There's a wide selection on the ice cream menu. The à la carte prices are relatively reasonable and inexpensive. For those with sensitive minds, be aware that the restaurant's interior decor features many stuffed animals such as a goose, a fox, etc. ”

“ What can I say: an absolute insider tip. Great food, large portions. Decent value for money. Don't be put off by the exterior! Highly recommended. No tourists. Only locals. What was missing: salt and pepper at the table. ”

- Axel Schifer -

“ This restaurant is so welcoming. The chestnut black pudding is a pure delight. We plan to return to try the blue trout. The food is excellent, and the service is distinguished by its efficiency and friendliness. ”
